As the world changes, new abilities, and innovation rise and chiefs thusly are required to grasp these progressions for a smooth running of the board and skill The board in the previous years has been following a known or a characterized pattern however with time, its pattern has changed to become contemporary implying that administrators have grasped the advanced or present day administrative abilities. This includes the re-assessment of the old customary administration rehearses .Contemporary administration involves improvement of reasoning practices and devices that elevate increasingly versatile reactions to issues a they rise in our everyday exercises, 2016) (Beata Glinkowska and Boguslaw Kaczmarek. Chiefs in various fields for example bookkeeping, electronic trade, business organization buyer conduct, advertising and innovation and development the board are al a subject of center in examining the theme contemporary administration when all is said in done Change in administrative aptitudes Administrative abilities can be characterized as the information and the capacity of the individuals in administrative situation to achieve specific administrative exercises or obligations It was discovered that, as the universe of work develops, so do the characteristics and aptitudes of the chiefs expected to lead the association in the contemporary world do. The board work is not, at this point equivalent to it used to be and along these lines, radical changes have been seen once in a while. This suggests the way that chiefs were effective in the past doesn't mean they will be fruitful later on. They have to grasp change in their administrative aptitudes. Cornelius and Colvin, 2014) In the cotemporary world, chiefs can get, guide and get change going. Chiefs of things to come should be able to see, coordinate and encourage change. They will require key reasoning and a capacity to transcend the detail. They won't just oversee funds and produce innovation yet additionally to set up the best possible change forms In the current world, jobs have been flipped around relying upon the degree of their capacity to adjust to the changes. Dissimilar to n the past where directors assumed numerous jobs, Managers today assume a job guaranteeing that they assess all structures and culture that thwart the representative from going to the clients. This is in opposition to the past in light of the fact that administrators were not that much worried about this. (Eastburn and Sharland, 2017) It was discovered that the current day supervisors are profoundly imaginative to investigate the new developing markets .Manger have been talented theoretically just as being educated and mindful of the political environment. They have gotten determined with energy and work o guarantee that their thoughts become valid. The person put everybody in the association to assume a job in guaranteeing that they succeed. It was discovered cap to do, this contemporary supervisors have changed their disposition from inflexibility to a development outlook .Modern chiefs have been seen as firm in their objectives in spite of the deterrents. This is an angle that has clarified improvement in administrative aptitudes among the chiefs in todays world. Achievement is a greater amount of mental than physical. On the off chance that one has the power originating from inside, accomplishing objectives become increasingly simpler .System hypothesis according to the board is a hypothesis discovered reasonable to clarify the above changes among contemporary chiefs. As indicated by the hypothesis, character authority, mental models, building shared dreams, thinking and group learning is the foundation of improvement of three significant learning abilities; creati ng intelligent discussion, getting multifaceted nature and cultivate desire. Framework hypothesis likewise sees the firm in as a comprehensive framework with a high level of reconciliation during the time spent worth creation In the contemporary would, it appears that the main path through which directors will have the option to be at per with the changing and regularly developing world is simply to move from the old conventions and adjust to the way of life of present day which is increasingly adaptable contrasted with that one of the past tat was unbending. It was discovered that when preparing the supervisors in the current days, adaptability is underscored to empower trim o create capacity to deal with any developing issue in the contemporary unique world. (Veldsman, 2014) Proposal The way that the world is turning out to be increasingly serious implies that solitary those administrators with high versatile aptitudes are the ones who will have the option to see the associations make due in the midst of all things considered (Bielski, 2014). This consequently prompts a proposal that in the contemporary world, all the chiefs should grasp change as far as; acquainting with any new rising innovation, have an adaptable outlook that can address any issue that comes their direction .An adjustment in jobs of the directors is additionally imperative in the contemporary world in that the supervisors ought to be the ones to propel the laborers to make the association effective. Poverty in The United States - Free Essay Example

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to highlight a critical issue in the United States. This is of grave concern for not only the American government, but for all the citizens in the country. Poverty is a detriment to our country and to its people that we need to make all aware of. When I think of poverty I think of children and Homeless Veterans going hungry. This paper on poverty will also assist in examining sociological theories and social concepts that pertain to the topic in question and will help provide a better view and meaning for the understanding of poverty. A look into American Poverty. Poverty, what is it? Poverty is the state of being impecunious and unable to support oneself and or family in a financial supportive fashion. Poverty can have many social impacts in regard to families, social statuss, and or educational impacts on the children involved in the poverty based home. I personally believe that poverty has always been around in the United States in one way or another throughout our countrys wonderful history. Poverty also can be found throughout the world when we look at other countrys such as England, Russia, and especially North Korea. Poverty in the United states has been steady due to the lack of willingness to pursue stronger careers, education and or fields that offer career growth. Many Americans return to work after having failed paths, careers or financial distress, but when they choose to return to work most Americans choose the wrong career and or field of work with sub-par financial support structuring to meet their financial obligation. Many Americans especially the younger generation of this era we are in take the first job they find and lack the knowledge and or experience to obtain their growth in a company and fail to think of a career that can start with minimal pay, but can offer the potential to advance in their career and advance in the company to higher earnings for a more financially stable foundation for oneself and family to potentially avoid the poverty status(Poverty, 2018). In 2017 for poverty the median showed by the U.S. Census Bureau was documented at $77,713 compared to the 2016 median of a 1.3% difference. The Poverty rate for the United States in 2017 was a great year as our country saw a decrease in the Poverty rate by 0.4% compared to the 2017 Poverty Rate. What we see as the leading group in the United States for Poverty are the citizens with the lack of a formal education and or formal training in a specialized craft. The group we see in our country with at a minimum of a bachelors degree have a lower rate of poverty vs. the uneducated group in our countrys statistics of poverty. With 2017 Poverty rates we can see a decrease in the military veterans and disabled veterans throughout the United States as we know in history veterans were among some of the highest rates in regard to poverty (Fontenot, K, 2018). Veterans and poverty. Although when we think of poverty, we often think of the homeless man or woman on the corner and fail to take into account their story and or potential history like if their a displaced veteran with a condition whether it be physical and or psychological. Veterans are among some of the most homeless and suffering from poverty due to their displacement in society. The displacement is caused by biased individuals, companies and organizations that fail to accommodate a veteran with disabilities that require special accommodations for their employment within the desired hiring company. I personally experienced this when I was medically retired from the United States Army back in the end of 2016. I had companies interview me for management positions all the way down to junior i.t. technician positions and was denied the position due to my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and my Traumatic Brain Injury that I listed on the disability paperwork, I know this due to having applied with future co mpanies and not listing my disabilitys I was hired with no issue. You see society has an objected view towards military service veterans as they have no concept of our part in society and what we truly due in our day to day lives as soldiers, air men, marines, and sailors. Societys views of soldiers and veterans are based off what they see on ***

Animal Cruelty Problem - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 6 Words: 1816 Downloads: 5 Date added: 2019/05/28 Category Society Essay Level High school Tags: Cruelty To Animals Essay Did you like this example? Cruelty to animals is commonly known as animal cruelty which is criminally negligent act that causes an animal to suffer pain or bein killed. If left to its own us humans would exploit animals without any regard to moral consideration. Judging by the increasing number of animals, these statutes have had little of the desired impact. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Animal Cruelty Problem" essay for you Create order Over 9.1 billion land animals are killed in the United States for food each year. For most of them, their lives and deaths occur outside of the lawrs protection, with little thought given to the well-being of their lifes. In fact, many states specifically exempt farm animals from anti-cruelty statutes. This practice excluding agricultural animals from anti-cruelty protections is not unique to the United States. Rather, it is global, and it is resulting in animals suffering reaches an almost unbelievable amount. Diffrent states use diffrent definition to describe the cruelty. Examples of animal cruelty is, harming of any animals or endangerment the animals life is known as animal cruelty. Types of animal cruelty are,not getting your animal medical care when you know they need it, not feeding or watering, over feeding and watering them so that they bloat. Anything that causes harm to any animal can be reported and than you get a court date and they can even take your pets and send you to jail for a long time. Having to many animals in a home that do not have enough room to move is also a form of animal cruelty. Animal fighting is another form. The side effects of animals that have been in an abusive home or life style, have been known to no trust people so easily which makes them harder to find a home to. The animals that have been abused will always have their scars even if you cant see them. The scientist or the hunters that take the animals from their habitat they destroy the balance of t he ecosystem by taking the animals out of their home. Each time we lay our hands on the animals we are abusing them and we are losing their trust and we wont get that back ever. Animal cruelty is one of the biggest threats to an animas, habitat, life than anything else, so why do we put them threw this? Animals cruelty is unhuman and it makes those animals turn to the dark side and then we have aggressive animals and this is not the animals fault they are just protecting from us. With this in mind we still harm them and make them so scared that they will not trust another person to show them love, care and to not hurt them or hurt them. We have the responsibility to protect them and not let things hurt them and this is not the way we do it by leaving them on the side of the road or not feeding them or watering them. How would you feel if you got ripped away from the only family that you had and then put into a cage and then made to be in experiment and left in pain that ends up killing you? This is not what we should do animal cruelty is something that be nothing but a memory and this is not something to joke about. It is important to be aware of animal cruelty. Animals are suffering in two different ways. Those two diffrent ways are medical and personal or experiments. Examples of suffering in medical ways is like when scientists developed a vaccine against the blue tongue,a disease transmitted by midges that causes much suffering in animals such as cattle, and sheep. Catherine Dellortpoints out that animals used for these experiments are left in their cages to die without any pain relief, rather than being euthanized (page20). The scientist needed to test what they made for strokes. Catherine Dellorts discovers the baboons were seen in their cages hunched over unable to drink, chew, or even lift their heads( page 20). Even when we do it for personal reasons it is still bad. The night before companion animals animals are sometime starved or even over watered where they blot and than exploded. The fighting of any animals are aginst the law in some states, but some how they still find a way to have fighting rings, but the owners do this in th e expense of dogs they are tortured and they are trained to do this are even forced to fight where they just end up getting killed or killing other animals. When you go and use them to fight they become sckettish and this is not a good thing they might end up snapping and going after you are they will become mute and that is not something we want to happpen. Animals are being killed everyday for are own personal reasons. Like choking, beating, strangling,Downing, fighting, kicking, neglect abandonment, poison, stabbing, unlawful trade, unlawful trapping. Animals are killed for our selfish needs and wants. Those animals are used for our entertainment or the educational purpose. We are the other hand do not think of the side affects that have on the animals. We make them fearful and in the constent struggle of keeping a safe life. Those animals that we use go threw their lives looking over their shoulder thinking that we are gonna be next or their the next ones to. Gender ended up being the biggest component for animal cruelty. It is separated into two categories female and males, but males are the worst. In 2006 the ASPCArs men and women pursued cases in New York City made a record, one hundred a cases and sized two hundred ninety-nine animals in connection with their investigations. Almost all abusers are males.. In a study of sixty- seven college undergraduates, male students were nearly four times more likely than females to report abusing animals as children or adolescents. Slightly more than one- third of males (34.5%), but just fewer than 10% of females (9.3%), reported that animals had been cruel to animals. That are two hundred and fifty-six cases from males and only sixty- five cases for females. The total number of cases that only have males perpetrators is four hundred seventy- four. The number of males and females perpetration is eighty- seven. Animals are in painful situations all the time. Fighting and testing on them are examples are ways the animals live painful lives. Testing on them makes them costley looking over their shouldersin feear that are go to come and test on them. When testing the scientist are suggested involved in often downplayed and they allege extreme levels of cruelty inflicted upon animals. The experiments can involve drawing, suffocating, starving and burning, blinding animals, destroy their ability to hear, damaging their brains, serving their lambs, crushing their organs, inducing their heart attacks, and ulcers, paralysis, seizures, and forcing the animals to inhale tobacco smoke, and drink alcohol, and ingest various drugs. When this happen we are destroying the food chain and throwing the food chain all out of balance. Each time that we do we make them shut down and it dose not help use gain their trust. When we use them as bait for a fighting it endangers their lives and thats not what we should do. A total of fifty-three cases of fighting with animal. That number should be zero. They are used for our personal and selfish reasons. What about the animals personal benefits? When we use them for our personal purpose they are unaware of what they are about to be exposed to. Everyday of every minute of every second of every hour they are put threw these painful situation and then they have to deal with the side effects and it hard for them. Animals that are experiment on have side effects that make them claw at them self. Or they are also have been known to have hallucination nations that make them act out. The animals in the experiment are also known to get very aggressive or they might get so depressed that they do not eat or drink. They will basically starved or dehydrate themself because the animals are in pain or they associate the food and water that the scientist give them. Because they associate it as something that is going to hurt them and they do not want any of it. E.T. Movie Released

The movie E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial was a hit from the day it was released (June 11, 1982) and quickly became one of the most beloved movies of all time. The Plot The movie E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial was about a 10-year-old boy, Elliott (played by Henry Thomas), who befriended a little, lost alien. Elliott named the alien E.T. and did his best to hide him from adults. Soon Elliotts two siblings, Gertie (played by Drew Barrymore) and Michael (played by Robert MacNaughton), discovered E.T.s existence and helped. The children tried to help E.T. construct a device so that he could phone home and thus hopefully become rescued from the planet he was accidentally left upon. During the time they spent together, Elliott and E.T. create such a strong bond that when E.T. started to become sick, so did Elliott. The plot got even sadder when agents from the government discovered the dying E.T. and quarantined him. Elliott, distraught by his friends illness, eventually rescues  his friend and flees  from the pursuing government agents. Realizing that E.T. would only really get better if he could go home, Elliott took E.T. to the spaceship that had returned for him. Knowing they would never see each other again, the two good friends say  goodbye. Creating E.T. They storyline of E.T. had its beginnings in director Steven Spielbergs own past. When Spielbergs parents divorced in 1960, Spielberg invented an imaginary alien to keep him company. Using the idea of a lovable alien, Spielberg worked with Melissa Mathison (future wife of Harrison Ford) on the set of Raiders of the Lost Ark to write the screenplay. With the screenplay written, Spielberg needed the right alien to play E.T. After spending $1.5 million, the E.T. we now know and love was created in multiple versions for close-ups, full-body shots, and animatronics. Reportedly, the look of E.T. was based on Albert Einstein, Carl Sandburg, and a pug dog. (Personally, I can definitely see the pug in E.T.) Spielberg filmed E.T. in two very unusual ways. First, nearly all of the movie was filmed from the eye-level of the children, with most of the adults in E.T. only seen from about the waist down. This perspective allowed even adult moviegoers to feel like a child while watching the movie. Secondly, the film was mostly shot in chronological order, which is not a common filmmaking practice. Spielberg chose to film this way so that the child actors would have a more realistic, emotional reaction to E.T. throughout the movie and especially during E.T.s departure at the end. E.T. Was a Hit E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial was a blockbuster movie right from its release. Its opening weekend grossed $11.9 million and E.T. stayed at the top of the charts for over four months. At the time, it was the largest grossing movie ever made. E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial was nominated for nine Academy Awards and won four of them: Sound Effects Editing, Visual Effects, Best Music (Original Score), and Best Sound (Best Picture that year went to Gandhi). E.T. touched the hearts of millions and has remained one of the best movies ever made.

The Public And Political Space Essay - 1514 Words

though I would have preferred to get some ‘native’ perspective on the reasoning behind the controversy, I was unable to not find any academic sources in English or was unable to access them. This could be important since foreign academic can miss an integral part in the analysis whilst an author from Malaysia can add perspective of what happened on the ground. For instance, while reading Malaysian newspaper resources, an article cited how Herald has had previous clashes with the government about the screening of the film Passion of the Christ. This raises question on the newspaper’s relation with the government and if it was targeted for such reasons. 15Yet none of the academic sources explore this. Due to my inability to access and understand Malay sources I cannot pursue an answer. Yet to compensate, the existing literature that are presented in this literature review, draw on a variety of approaches to explain the puzzle. This provides the reader with a better understanding and insights of the public and political space in the course of the seven years. Nevertheless, I think there are two main conceptual gaps and limitation that are found in the three groups presented in the literature review. The first is how some authors assumed that a number of Malaysian organizations and institutions have had an unbiased and continuous stance and only outside pressures were in play. This assumption is unsupported since some of the reading referenced the overall growing number of moreShow MoreRelatedChanging Social And Political Space Of Women Essay1649 Words   |  7 Pages 1 HAIFA ZUBAIR Changing Social and Political Space of Women: Special Reference to Women in Muslim Community of North Kerala Mphil Application: RESEARCH PROPOSAL INTRODUCTION Statistical index shows that the women of Kerala are distinct from that of other states in their outstanding gains in the fields of education and health. Introduction to E-Management

Question : Explain How You Will Implement the virtual E-Management? Answer : Introduction (Source: zendesk, 2017) Virtual management is the maintenance, leadership and supervision of the various virtual teams which have been dispersed in various working groups which do not met or very rarely meet. With the increased development in the information technology companies now take use of virtual management and virtual teams for accomplishing their objectives. There is extensive use of virtual management for having overseas market reach. There are several diverse actors which affect the management of the virtual teams such as cultural, economic and political factors but with a good management approach the teams can be managed efficiently (Bergiel,Bergiel and Balsmeier, 2008). Implementation of Virtual Management There can be implementation of virtual management by following five major steps i.e. preparations, launching, performance management, and team development and at the last disbanding. There should firstly be defining of the general purpose of implementing virtual management in the preparation phase. Secondly there should be made virtual teams for effective execution of the virtual working. In the launch phase, there should be formal meeting of all the team members through video calling and conferences. There should also be communication regarding the tasks and responsibilities of each member. In the performance management phase, the performances of the team members should be managed and in the team development phase, all the teams should be developed through various strategies. After the task or project is completed there is disbanding of those teams and again the team members are unglued (Lee-Kelley and Sankey, 2008). Managing the US team The teams in US are culturally, politically, and economically different from the domestic country. To manage the teams in US there will be taken use of virtual management only. Following are the ways in which the teams in US will be managed through virtual management: Defining work systems There is extreme diversity among the people so the way of performing tasks is also different. If there will be defining of work systems as well as setting of standards then it will result into attainment of desired results in a shorter time period. These defined work systems will help in providing efficiency in the work as well as giving freedom to the employees to tailored things as per their abilities (Turban, Liang and Wu, 2011). Establishing multiple channels of communication Due to the difference in cultures, economies and various other things it is necessary that for managing the team there must be effective communication. Thus, it is essential that there must be establishment of numerous communication channels so that the employees can discuss each and every thing. Scheduled meetings on a regular basis There must be fixed schedule on which the meetings should be held and these meeting are required to be take place on a regular basis such as once in a week. These meetings can be done through video calls. It will help in bringing consistency as well as reducing the differences among the people related to their cultures. This will result into development of informal association and enhanced communication among the employees (Kimble, 2011). Working of virtual teams (Ferrazzi, 2014) To have effective working of the virtual teams it is essential that all the team members should clarify their processes as well as their tasks and must not only share the organizational roles and goals. By having a clear understanding of the tasks and processes, it helps in the effective allocation of the teams as well as sub-groups so that there can be achieved better coordination. The most essential element in the effective working of the virtual team is to set a common and shared language fir the communication among the teams. It will help in making an equality as well as broader range of individuals will understand the things effectively. There must also be development of trust and encouragement of open conversation among the teams. It will help in effective flow of ideas, thought and opinions. It will also help in effective resolution of any kind of issue taking place among the teams (Siebdrat, Hoegl and Ernst, 2009). Use of tools There are required effective and potential tools in managing the virtual teams. Following are those tools which have significant importance in managing teams: For video meetings For the virtual teams there is essential requirement of regular video meetings among the virtual teams. There are two effective tools for making video calls i.e. Skype and Google Hangouts. Both of them are well recognized tools for making video calls. The basic purpose of them is to support the business meeting through video calling (Choi, Lee and Yoo, 2010). For document storage and file sharing For the virtual teams, document storage and file sharing is also of utmost importance. There are few effective tools for fulfilling this purpose which includes Google Apps and Dropbox. These two well-known tools will effectively support the faster sharing of files and safe storage of documents so that virtual teams can use them. For project management and collaboration For sharing information amongst each other there is a need of a central hub. There are few tools which provide efficient management to the employees. It includes Hipchat, Slack, Trello and Skitch. These tools help in providing a safe and secure platform for effective video calling, team chat and file sharing. By taking use of all these tools the company can have effective management of virtual teams (United Methodist Church, 2017). Advantages of virtual management Cost Saving The primary advantage of virtual management is cost saving as all the huge expenses such as office spaces, expenses on the real estate, utilities bills etc. have been saved. Therefore, there is much cost saving by the company (Gibson and Cohen, 2003). Leverage Global Talent As there are employed people from various other countries o it provides an opportunity to have global talent and competence. This will result into increased efficiency as there are people with diverse abilities and skills. Newer opportunities The virtual management help in offering new opportunities to the people who are not able to relocate themselves from any reason. Therefore, it is very much advantageous for people who are physically challenged (Klitmller and Lauring, 2013). Increased productivity Another benefit of virtual management is that people are more involved in their work due to less rules and regulations. Therefore there is increased productivity as individuals are solely dependent work their work. Reduced time to market In the virtual management people work over different shift times and as a result 24*7 working is there in the organization which leads tofaster delivery of products and services in the market (Andres, 2008). Disadvantages of virtual management High cost of technology In virtual management the cost of technology is very high as all the work is performed with high tech equipment and tools. There is continuous use of video conferencing, emails, instant messaging and use of internet in other things (Brown, Huettner and James-Tanny, 2010). Social isolation In virtual management there is no physical interaction with other people and the communication is also completely task oriented. Thus, it negatively impacts the members of the virtual teams as they become they victims of social isolation (O'Leary and Mortensen, 2010). Lack of trust and conflicts As there is lack of informal interactions as well as people do not have any such association with other members so there is lack of trust among each other. This gives rise to several conflicts in the team members (Wakefield,Leidner and Garrison, 2008). Overcoming of the disadvantages Enhanced communication To overcome the issues or the disadvantages of virtual management there should be enhanced communication among the embers so that there can be developed a strong association as well as informal relationship amongst them. This will result into decreased rate of conflicts and cases of social isolation. Common Platform/ effective project management software To save the high cost of technologies the company must take use of a shared or a common platform which over which all the members of the virtual team can interact with other people as well as by taking use of effective project management software there will be reduced costs of operations (Lepsinger, 2010). Managing meeting between the teams in Gulf and US To manage meeting between the teams in Gulf and US in terms of time there will be making of separate schedules so that the time issues dont takes place. In the Gulf there is a set and established working so managing teams there is not so tough but in terms of place the US teams are required to be managed effectively. All the demographic regions of US should be analyzed and evaluate effectively, this will help in operational management of teams. In terms of language it is essential that a common language must be used for having conversation with both the teams so that people can have a better communication. English is one of those languages which can be used to communicative with the teams (Lumsden, 2008). Managing the outsourced projects Making the outsourced parties understand the business objectives It is essential that the outsourced parties must take insights of the companys goals and objectives so that they can work with a shared goal and have their greater contribution in the achievement of the organizational objectives. Taking care of that the files, playbook and information are similar In outsourced projects it is necessary that the information, playbook as well as the files used by the outsourced parties should be same as the company use. This will create a similarity in the end results (Ale Ebrahim, Ahmed and Taha, 2009). Implementing effective project management software There must be taken use of effectiveproject management software so that all the work performed should be free of errors. This will also support the efficient completion of the tasks. Sync up Another most important thing in managing outsourced projects is that there should be a regular sync between the organization and the outsourced parties so that there can be effective flow of information as well as activities can also be evaluate that they are properly lined up or not (Hoch and Kozlowski, 2014). Solving problems between two workers One to one discussion To solve the issue between two workers it is first of all necessary that there should be one to one discussion with both the tea, members so that they can explain their issues and grievances. A proper analysis must be done on the issues of both the workers. Perform reality check The second important measure is to perform a reality check. Based upon the conversation with both the workers a secret reality check should be there for revealing out the truth Explore potential solution After having results of reality check there should be implement potential solution so that the workers can resolve these issues either by communication or any other measure so that company dont lose it productivity because of internal issues of the workers (Montoya-Weiss, Massey and Song, 2001). Advice for improvement Creating potential communication The communication taking place between the virtual teams should be potential rather than just time killing so that it results into improved results and productivity. Establishing rules of responsiveness In virtual managementthere are no such rules of responsiveness and the members work freely. But many a times it creates issues in getting responses. Therefore, it is necessary that there must be establishment of rules of responsiveness so that a discipline is maintained and there are efficient outcomes (Messinger, et al., 2009). Conclusion From this above report it can be concluded that in present scenario there is essential need and demand of virtual management for having improved productivity and efficiency. There are several advantages of virtual management which help the companies in achieving higher sustainability. As Souq.com is an online merchandiser, so it is very much beneficial for the company for having an extended market reach in the US. There are few disadvantages of virtual management too but if the company will take effective measures then it can overcome those disadvantages and achieve better results. By having appropriate virtual teams and successful management the company can have a successful future and expansion ahead. References Ale Ebrahim, N., Ahmed, S. and Taha, Z., 2009. Communication Skills free essay sample

This assignment will define communication and discuss the importance of effective communication within the healthcare sector. It will then look at how I can develop an active listening skill that I currently feel is a personal weakness. (Appendix 1) Le May (2004) defines communication as a process of exchanging a message intentionally or unintentionally between two or more people using either both verbal and non verbal communication skills. In order for communication to be effective, the sender and the receiver must have a clear understanding of what is being communicated, because a breakdown can have a negative outcome (Riley 2008).Effective communication is an essential tool used throughout the healthcare profession. The reason why communication is so vital in the healthcare profession is due to the simple fact that peoples lives are at risk if communication fails (Riley 2008). Yet research shows that poor communication is one of the general complaints in the healthcare profession (Campbell 2006). The Congress of Vienna Essay Example

The Congress of Vienna Essay The Congress of Vienna was an important alliance between European nations in the aftermath of the Napoleonic Empire. In the years 1814-1815 the Congress of Vienna met to try and reorganize Europe following Napoleon’s conquests. The results were important to the future of Europe and the four main countries involved were Austria, Prussia, Russia, and Great Britain. These countries were â€Å"chiefly instrumental in the overthrow of Napoleon† and their alliance had begun with the Treaty of Chaumont in 1814 (Congress of Vienna). The Congress of Vienna began its assembly five months after the first abdication of Napoleon Bonaparte, and completed it Final Act shortly before Napoleon’s Waterloo campaign. The results of the Congress of Vienna were widespread and very important to the history of Europe. Major conflicts arose over issues relating to the claims of Sweden, Denmark, and Russia over Poland and Saxony, and the adjustments that were to be made to Germany. The major agreements were that Poland would be split apart amongst Prussia and Austria, with some cities becoming incorporated as separate kingdoms. Prussia was to guard the Rhine against France for the Netherland, and Denmark lost Norway, which became part of Sweden. Other minor changes were made, including Austria’s compensation in the form of Lombardy and Venice and a confederation was created for Germany. Switzerland was also given a new constitution. The Papal States were returned to the pope and parts of today’s Italy were given to various people. â€Å"Free navigation of international rivers and diplomatic precedence† were agreed to as well (Congress of Vienna). The Congress of Vienna was incredibly influential in European history and the agreed upon terms were adhered to for more than 40 years. In the aftermath of the mess left by the Napoleonic Empire, the Congress of Vienna was able to make sense of the land that was left with no master and create a cohesive continent. Romanticism was an important literary and cultural movement that began around the time of the French Revolution and continuing until the coronation of Queen Victoria in England. This period saw a great many important writers come to the forefront, including Kant and Rousseau, and their ideals became important to the changing world. The main reason that Romantic writers championed feelings over reason was because their belief was that emotions were more important than reason because they could be seen as a source of creativity. As a part of nature, emotions were powerful and if tapped into could create magnificent art. The romantics emphasized intuition, creativity, and emotion far above the reason of the Age of Enlightenment. Poetry started the revolution of Romanticism and became the first vehicle by which it was brought to the forefront of society. Rousseau and Kant were two important figures in the Romantic period, especially surrounding the French Revolution. Rousseau reflected on human nature and freedom, and he stressed that all human beings had freedom and equality at birth. Kant, while dedicated more so to the reasoning of the Enlightenment, sought to prove Rousseau’s theories right in a more logical, reasonable way than Rousseau’s romantic notions. An important part of both men’s philosophy was nature and its influence on human beings. Rousseau is most known for his inspiring the French Revolution. Romanticism stressed the importance of nationalism. Religion took on new meanings during the Romantic period as well. The religion of the Reformation and the Enlightenment focused on spiritual salvation through reason and logic, something that the Romantics did not agree with. The emphasis on nature, emotion, and mysticism transferred from the literature and art of the Romantic period into the religious movement as well. The focus became the nature of the human being. This modified the ideals Europeans had about Middle Eastern religions such as Islam, because these religions had been Romantic in nature forever. It became more interesting and acceptable because of the focus on emotion and the person themselves. The Romantic period was a time of great changes in the world. Nationalism and emotion became important, while rationalism and reason were thrown by the wayside. The French Revolution had sparked a revolution in thought, ideals, and art as well, creating a different way of thinking and creating philosophers out of Rousseau and others. Many romantics were utopians who believed in something much different from the earlier Age of Reason (Brians). Works Cited Brians, Paul. Romanticism. 1 Oct. 2004. The essay generally will start with a brief introduction and there will be times when you are asked to describe your background and why you feel your experience will benefit others.Following that you will then be required to summarize the main points. In the body of the essay you will be presented with an argument for one or more concepts. You will be expected to examine and critique this argument. This is where the creativity and sense of humor came into play because you will be expected to write in a style that is understandable and interesting to the reader. After reviewing and evaluating all of the arguments you may find that some are better than others, and that you should spend more time on one particular topic than another. In this way, the essay becomes an interesting conversation. One thing that you do not want to do is to nitpick the errors in your essay, and simply turn the whole assignment into a report card.Another factor to consider when writing your essay is to use discussion groups. When you can go to various discussions groups you will be able to interact with other writers who have just completed a sample isearch essay. They will help you identify your weaknesses or even assist you in writing a speech that makes a statement for them. Although this is one benefit of writing an essay, it will also help you identify areas where you may need to practice more.A student should strive to write an essay that is short but persuasive and informative. Writing an essay o n a specific topic or skill, like for example, public speaking, is much more important. It is important that your essay is concise, but still impressive to the reader. As a teacher, it is also important that you clearly explain your thoughts, and that you clearly state your arguments. Therefore, you should be careful to ensure that you keep the benefits of an essay for the final grade, and maintain a clear and concise writing style.

Moreover, the topic has to be supported with strong facts so the paper is considered reliable and valid. Sample Paper on Social Media: Generation Gap or What Parents Should Know about Social Media It’s not a secret that there are people who prefer staying aside from social media. They either want to keep in secret their private life or just have no time to live active life online. As a result, parents often are not aware of what their children do on social networks and what danger is hidden behind the person’s profile. They also don’t know how a person can benefit from using social media platforms. Children, especially, teenagers hate when their parents control their social accounts. Kids like to behave like adults and social networks help them feel independent. They post their photos, videos, comment things, get their likes, and choose people they want to communicate with. Parents’ mission is to protect their children. That’s why they often try to impose their points of view concerning the choice of friends. Consequently, parents quarrel with children and children apply various passwords trying to protect their virtual life. There are things which parents should know about social networking. First, it’s necessary to learn its positive nature. Social media lets children find new people, learn languages, improve knowledge, solve their problems, enrich their outlook, and keep in touch with time requirements. Children can exchange personal experience. Students can warn their mates and tutors in case they feel unwell or need to miss classes. There are many social communities letting their users study, progress, and even earn money. On the other hand, there are negative aspects of social networking. A great number of people use Facebook to kidnap and commit crimes. The problem of the Internet is that it lacks lucidity. One can upload pictures and videos which don’t belong to the owner and give false information about a person. For example, a senior man can pretend to be a teenager and try to date young girls. First, he â€Å"interviews† a girl. Then, he cozies up to the victim and, finally, asks her to spend some time with him tà ªte-a-tà ªte. Burglars also like studying profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other social platforms on the Internet. They try to learn the information about possible victims. They learn their address, personal data, and follow their accounts to see when they plan traveling. Due to that, they can penetrate into the apartments and steal valuable things. Some criminals try to find prosperous families who have kids. They either kidnap kids and hold to ransom or leave them holding the bag making parents redeem them. That’s why parents have to explain to their kids that it’s very dangerous to share personal information on social networks. Children should avoid publishing their intimate photos and meeting unknown people in private. By the way, they must not inform the Internet audience about plans for holidays. It’s better to post data afterward unless the apartments are not empty (for example, children went somewhere with their mother or teacher and their father stayed at home). There is one more danger. Kids like doing online shopping or taking part in various drawings and games. Such things require investments and even take children’s lives. Parents should know how their children spend their pocket money. They should also explain that there are many frauds on the Internet. That’s why parents are recommended to control online purchases performed by their children in order to save money and reduce the risk of getting debts in case their kids decide to participate in drawings. So, we may say that social media has its positive and negative aspects. Parents’ task is to be fair with their children and just tell them to be careful while posting something. They should also warn them about dangerous online games like â€Å"Blue Whale Challenge† and â€Å"Momo†. No doubt, there is no need to deprive their children of the right to use social networks. Otherwise, kids will try to do the opposite. References: G. Plato's View of Democracy Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Plato's View of Democracy - Essay Example Many people were wondering how the ideal state could come about. It was argued that it could be a democracy, and this 'idealized world,' could, in name exist. Plato doubted this however. Other people caught onto Plato's ideas about the Greek state quickly. They even adopted them for their own philosophies about the world. In fact, "Jews used Plato's myth [about the demiurge in Timaeus] to imagine how the world could have gotten so out of shape when it was God's wisdom that had planned it." (Mack, 1995) Plato was talking not only about democracy, but about the creation of a polis: "Well, then, said I, is not the city you are founding to be a Greek city" (Hamilton, 2005) Plato insisted that Greeks would run a democratic city in a better fashion than barbarians or non-Greeks, and insisted upon this point with some alacrity. "They will not, being Greeks, ravage Greek territory nor burn habitations, and they will not admit that in any city all the population are their enemies, men, women, and children, but will say that only a few at any time are their foes, those, namely, who are to blame for the quarrel." (Hamilton, 2005) Plato insisted that Greeks would not harm their own land if they were to fight for it and, would indeed not pillage the land. "And on all these considerations they will not be willing to lay waste the soil, since the majority are their friends, nor to destroy the houses, but will carry the conflict only to the point of compelling the guilty to do justice by the pressure of the suffering of the innocent." (Hamilton, 2005) Plato considered that it would be an injustice towards Greek countrymen if Greeks were to commit their own savage acts of war on their own country in pursuit of democracy, saying, "if either party... The Plato's View on Democracy The problems Plato had with democracy were that: there was a fake quality about this notion, and that in fact in Greece not all men were equipped to become faciliators of the state; men needed an oligarchic state because no man was an island capable of helping himself; and that a society in which there is a hierarchy avoids justice, and includes a state which would dissolve into a tyranny because people would not know what would be the right thing to do. "While Plato and Aristotle founded their schools, the Academy and the Lyceum, before the beginning of the Hellenistic period, the Epicureans and the Stoics first appeared in the early decades of that period." (Koester, 1995) Plato does have a way of describing events, but he does so in a mentally rigorous process. "When Plato describes the universe [and how ordered a democracy should be], "he does so in almost entirely mythological terms; so too in his many discussions of the nature and destiny of the soul (Phaedo, Gorgias, Phaedrus, Republic, Laws)." (Tarnas, 1991) In that period, not every man was deemed equal in Plato's eyes. "In the middle period dialogues (Phaedo, Symposium, Republic), Plato set out the character of the ideal society and speculated on the nature of true reality as such. Plato had a very narrow view on democracy, and he can’t be blamed for that seeing as how the people of his time were at times unreliable.

Friendships with a pinch of salt Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Friendships with a pinch of salt - Essay Example Tobias had been my best friend since fourth grade. He was a bright eyed, blond haired new student who strode into the classroom as if he owned the place. While I tend to be withdrawn, he was confident, sure of himself and would always stand up for what he wanted. Up until now, I had always considered this to be a good trait, today I wasn’t so sure. â€Å"Come on, we’re running late.† He had pulled me into a half-jog; half-sprint and now turned so he was running backwards and grinned at me. The hot pavement was harsh on my bare feet and I grimaced, trying to keep up with him. I was not good at running at the best of times. My breath came in short gasps and I had to brush at my forehead to prevent the sweat from dripping down into my eyes. â€Å"Run faster.† He egged me on. Finally, we stopped and I stood breathing heavily holding the wall up, or perhaps it was holding me. The world swam in front of my eyes and I could vaguely see Tobias standing in front of me looking slightly concerned. â€Å"Hey. Are you alright?† He put his hand on my shoulder and looked at me. I tried to answer him, but it was hard to talk. The words caught in my mouth and it was becoming difficult to breathe, each breath was harder than the one before. I fumbled in my pockets, looking for my inhaler. There were far too many pockets on this pair of shorts, two on each leg, two on the back and another couple of hidden pockets inside other ones.

How Seamus Heaneys Childhood Affected His Poetry Essay -- Seamus Hean

How Seamus Heaney's Childhood Affected His Poetry Seamus Heaney was born in the North of Ireland in 1939 on a farm with his mother and father and nine other siblings. Generally Heaney's poems are influenced by animals through his childhood experience, specifically within 'The Early Purges' and 'An Advancement of Learning'. Heaney grew up near Belfast, during the time of 'The Troubles', the Irish civil war. Although Heaney left at the height of the war, it is obvious his work reflects his experiences of that time. For an example 'The Early Purges' illustrates this. "Where they consider death unnatural". Growing into an environment where Heaney will appreciate that death does exist, the extract interprets killing to be artificial. Many of Heaney's early poems dealt with experiences of childhood and a frequent theme is how these experiences affect us. One poem that deals with a childhood experience is "The Early Purges". The title immediately suggests that the poem is about getting rid of undesirables. It is about a particular incident and how we lose innocence, describing the effects of Heaney witnessing the killing of "frail" and "tiny" kittens. The words, "Soft paws scraping like mad" suggests how helpless and vulnerable the kittens are; they are so small that they are unable to climb out of the bucket. The word, "soft" indicates a feeling of guilt about destroying the helpless kittens. The kittens are made to seem innocent and vulnerable through the language used. The words, "frail metal sound" and "tiny din" imply that the kittens don't make enough noise to be significant. They are only small and powerless. Metal cannot be described as frail but the kittens illustrate this. Also din cannot be express... ...ut how we lose innocence. It is ambiguous and ironic - poet appears to endorse the view that "sentiments" displaced by "living" are "false", but ends with an unconvincing clichà ©: "Pests have to be kept down", and a cheap jeer at townies. In fact the young Heaney's reaction is the one the poet really approves. The Poem recalls a particular incident (the "first" time Heaney, as a boy, witnessed the farmhand killing kittens) and how he (the poet) became used to this in time. Now, he writes, he has a similar indifference to the death of animals. Dan Taggart justifies action by suggesting the kitten have no values "scraggy wee shits" and adult Heaney does the same, even swearing like Dan Taggart "bloody pups". We see older person try to deceive child to protect him from his compassion ("Sure isn't it better for them now?" - but the child is not convinced).

Antivirus Programs

Today, people rely on computers to create, store, and manage critical information, many times via a home computer network. Information transmitted over networks has a higher degree of security risk than information kept in user’s home or company premises. Thus, it is crucial that they take measures to protect their computer and data from loss, damage, and misuse resulting from computer security risks. Antivirus programs are an effective way to protect a computer against viruses. An antivirus program protects a computer against viruses by identifying and removing any computer viruses found in memory, on storage media, or on incoming files.[1] When u purchases a new computer, it often includes antivirus software. Antivirus programs work by scanning for programs that normally are read from but not modified. In addition, many antivirus programs automatically scan files downloaded from the Web, e-mail attachments, opened files, and all types of removable media inserted in the computer (Karanos 201-205). One technique that antivirus programs use to identify a virus is to look for virus signatures, or virus definitions, which are known specific patterns of virus code. According to Shelly and Cashman (Antivirus Programs), many vendors of antivirus programs allow registered users to update virus signature files automatically from the Web at no cost for a specified time. Updating the antivirus program’s signature files regularly is important, because it will download any new virus definitions that have been added since the last update. Methods that guarantee a computer or network is safe from computer viruses simply do not exist. Installing, updating, and using an antivirus program, though, is an effective technique to safeguard your computer from loss.
